Cooper at 1 Month

Here are some photos when Cooper was turning 1 month. That week my mom came down for Easter and stayed a few days and then Jackson's mom Karen came to stay with us for a few days. Cooper had Grandma overload!!! He loved it because he could be held all the time. It was a great time! Some pictures are of Easter and the Grandma visits.

Catching up with Cooper!

I have been so distracted by being Cooper's mommy that I had forgotten my blog. I never really got into before so picking it up after has been a challenge but I really want to keep track of things and update my friends and family that don't live in Dallas. So here are some pictures of Cooper during the first couple of weeks of life. We had so much fun getting to know him. He truly brings a different kind of JOY to our lives and makes up put life in perspective. We think God everyday for our little miracle.

Cooper's Arrival March 13th 2010

So since I let things get past me once again I guess I will start with Cooper's arrival, which was 5 months ago! Sheesh I can't beleive he has been here that long. He is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. He is alot of work but all worth it when he smiles at me and looks at me with those bright blue eyes.

Me right before going to the hospital
I guess I will begin with my labor. We decided to induce b/c I was only 2 days away from my due date and my feet/ankle swelling was getting worse. I was induced with Cytotec on March 11th  two days before my due date. I came in to the hospital that night and they gave me 25mcg of cytotec around 9 pm and I was only 1/50/-2. I didn't really feel much until they placed the 2nd dose of cytotec around 1am. I started feeling some cramping and wasn't able to sleep through it. They decided not to place the 3rd dose of  Cytotec b/c I was pretty much already in labor contracting every 2-3mins. By 5am I was ready to get some sleep so my nurse Rhonda gave me some Nubain and helped with the pain a bit and let me sleep for about an hour and a half. Then I was 2 cm . Around 730 or so Dr. New came in and checked me and broke my water. He said I was 3cm. They did not need to start pitocin because I was laboring myself. Around 9 or so I was 4cm and decided it was time for the Epidural. After getting the epidural I was 5cm. Then we waited. I was completly dilated around 2pm I think. We decided to labor down until he was lower and I started pushing around 430pm. My nurse Colleen stayed 2 hours past her shift til he was born at 535pm on March 12th. He was a healthy 8lbs 2oz and 20 inchs long. We stayed in the hospital til Sunday morning around 1130am. When we got home we had my mom and Tom there to greet us. Here are some pictures from before going to the hospital, after delivery and at the hospital. It was an amazing experience and I'm so glad I can understand my patients better by going through this. It was alot different being on the other side of things but the whole expierence flew by faster than I thought too.
At the hosptal before things really got started!
